1 Kumparepuisto

Kumparepuisto is a versatile outdoor area that features a children’s playground, a disc golf course, an observation tower and a grilling spot, a dog park, as well as large mounds that can be used for sledding in winter. The area has good parking facilities.
2 Sunilan Lähiliikuntapaikka
Address: Sunilantie 7, 48900 Kotka
At the Sunila local exercise area, you can work out with exercise machines (squat machine, incline bench press, and horizontal row) as well as with your own bodyweight using various exercise structures. The nearby sports field also offers opportunities for ball games and other activities.
Close to the sports field is also the Alvarinpuisto playground for children. The park has a variety of playground equipment.
3 Arto Tolsa Areena

At Arto Tolsa Arena, you can play football and exercise on the fitness stairs. The fitness stairs are located right between the Katariina Swimming Hall and Arto Tolsa Arena, on the slope of Tupakkavuori. The stairs are approximately 100 meters long and have 136 steps. The stairs are illuminated.
4 Kuusisenkadun Lähiliikuntapaikka
Address: Opintie 2, 48100 Kotka
At the Kuusisenkatu local sports area, you can play padel and basketball. In addition, the yard of the nearby school includes a rebound wall, balance and climbing structures, as well as playground equipment.
5 Puistola

Puistola offers a wide range of opportunities for outdoor exercise. The Puistola outdoor gym is located at the edge of the Puistola sports field and includes eight adjustable‑resistance exercise machines (such as a squat machine, bench press machine, and horizontal row). Next to the outdoor gym, there is also a sports field for running and ball games, as well as basketball and volleyball courts. An outdoor route also circles around the Puistola field and connects to the outdoor trails of Katariina Seaside Park.
6. Katariinan muumipuisto

In Katariina Seaside Park there is a well‑equipped playground for children, featuring swings, a carousel, climbing structures and balance elements. The landmark of the playground is the Moomin house, from which children can slide down. Near the playground there are also hammock swings, a labyrinth, and a water play feature. Closer to the sea, there are additional climbing structures and outdoor fitness equipment for adults, as well as a beach volleyball court. The area is also known for its beautiful park surroundings near the parking area. There are barbecue spots available for free use.
The area is easily accessible with prams and strollers.
7. Santalahti

Santalahti features a large sandy beach and a playground for children, including a zipline. From Santalahti, you can also access beautiful nature trails that are well signposted. The blue route runs along the seashore and is approximately two kilometers long. The red forest route branches off from the blue route and is about 2.5 kilometers in length.
8. Mussalon lähiliikuntapaikka

The local sports area is located next to Mussalo School and features an artificial turf field, a running track, a long jump area, and a basketball court.
9 Metsolan lintutorni

On the eastern shore of Metsolanlahti, there is a birdwatching tower. Nearby you will also find a grilling hut and a couple of rowing machines that operate with bodyweight resistance.
10 Keisarillinen kalastusmaja

Near the Langinkoski fishing lodge, there is a short and easy nature trail that is well suited for families with children. The nearby rapid and the museum area create a unique atmosphere for enjoying the outdoors. At Langinkoski, fishing is also possible within a designated area.
11. Karhuvuoren ulkoilu- ja leikkipaikka

The Karhuvuori local sports and playground area is located right next to the Karhuvuori School and daycare centre. The area includes football and basketball courts, skate ramps, various climbing structures, and a playground. In winter, there is also an ice rink.
From the underpass on Karhuvuorentie, you can access the Karhuvuori outdoor trail, where you can walk either a two‑kilometre or a 5.4‑kilometre route. From the far end of the longer (5.4 km) loop, you can also continue jogging all the way to Petäjäpirtti (1 km each way). The outdoor trails can also be accessed directly from Räskintie 92, where there is a good parking area.
12. Petäjäsuo

From Petäjäsuo (Petäjäsuontie), there is a one‑kilometre trail leading to the Kirkkokangas lean‑to shelter, where grilling is possible. From there, you can continue further along an outdoor route to Mustajärvi and onwards all the way to Valkmusa National Park.
Petäjäsuo also features a 20‑hole disc golf course. The starting point is located at Hongistonkuja, 48410 Kotka.
13. Karhulan jokipuisto

Karhula Riverside Park features a beautiful park and water area with a place for grilling. Next to the park, there is a children’s playground with various play equipment, basketball and football fields, fitness stairs, and an athletics field. In autumn 2026, adjustable‑resistance outdoor gym equipment will also be added to the area.
